Hello everyone!
I didn't really feel like writing a beauty post today, I wanted to write a post that doesn't require too much effort as I'm really not feeling myself and I thought what better post to do at this time of year than 'The Christmas Tag'. I have searched for a few blog posts and watched a few YouTube videos, and have chosen my favourite questions to answer from all of them. I also think that this will let you all get to know me a little bit more, even if it is just what my favourite Christmas film is! So, on with the post. Enjoy.
What is your favourite Christmas film?
I thought that this would be an easy question for me to answer, but when I think about it there are so many Christmas films that I love and watch over and over every year at Christmas time. Over the last couple of years, I have built up a small collection of Christmas films on DVD and have been regularly watching all of them over the last month or so. I think that it would have to be a toss up between the obvious one, 'Elf' and 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas'. I'd have to say these are the ones that I have grown up watching a lot and continue to watch a lot now, but I definitely couldn't pick between the two!
Have you ever had a White Christmas?
Since I was little, I have always loved the idea of waking up on Christmas morning to a fresh blanket of white snow covering the view from my bedroom window and I honestly can't remember that ever happening. Living in the UK, it gets super cold for winter but doesn't usually snow, and if it does it's usually in January or February, never at Christmas. I think maybe six or seven years ago it had snowed a week or so prior to Christmas and there were still the icy, slushy remnants left on Christmas morning, but it just isn't the same as that fresh white blanket that covers the landscape, is it. I can only hope that this year, I will wake up to a White Christmas.
What is your favourite Christmas song?
Now, I love a good Christmas song and I have so many favourites but I definitely think that my ultimate favourite would have to be Shakin' Stevens - Merry Christmas Everyone. It's just so upbeat and I can't help but sing everytime I hear it.
Can you name all of Santa's reindeer?
Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Rudolph, Comet, Cupid, Blitzen, Donner..? Is that it? How many even are there?!
Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
Unfortunately, it's fake. I'm still living at home with my Mum and Dad at the moment and they don't really like Christmas so don't put a tree up. Where as, I love Christmas so my Nan bought me a little 5 foot tree for me to put up in my bedroom. However, I will hopefully be in my own house for Christmas next year and I'm definitely going to be getting a real tree whether my boyfriend likes it or not!
What is your favourite Christmas food or treat?
This is a very difficult question for me to answer, because I am constantly eating all the time and even more so at Christmas. I think that the big Christmas dinner has to be my favourite Christmas food, although I am vegetarian so I have Quorn Roast instead of the usual Turkey. A roast dinner is probably my favourite meal of all time, no matter what time of year it is!
Do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts better?
Definitely giving gifts. I get so excited to see people's reactions when they hopefully love the presents that I have bought them. I sit and make my parents open their presents from me straight away, because they usually leave them and till late in the day or even the next day. I get very excited and tend to go a little over board buying gifts for people at Christmas.
What is the best Christmas gift you have ever received?
Definitely my Michael Kors watch that I got from my Dad last year, not because of what it was but because it was from my Dad. Even though my Mum and Dad are still together and have been since I was born, it's always my Mum that has bought our presents and my Dad has never had a clue what they were until we opened them on Christmas morning. A few months before Christmas last year, I began to get very upset because of issues at home between me and my Dad ad he just didn't really speak to me and it really upset me. Then it came to Christmas day and Mum and Dad called me into their bedroom first thing and gave me this wrapped up box that I had no idea about. It was purely my Dad's idea, nothing to do with my Mum and I had been eyeing the watches up for a while. The fact that it was all his idea meant more to me than anything!
What would be your dream place to visit for Christmas?
Although I can't imagine wanting to me anywhere else but home for Christmas, I have always wanted to go to New York at Christmas time, always, ever since I was little. I just imagine it to be magical at Christmas time.
Are you a pro present wrapper, or do you fail miserably?
I get way too into wrapping presents! All different sorts or wrapping papers and ribbons, laces and strings. I even put candy canes on my presents this year. So, yeah, I'd like to think that I'm a pro present wrapper!
What makes Christmas time special for you?
Getting to spend time with my family. That's my favourite thing about Christmas and I think that it always will be.
I tag all of you!
