Lauren Talks.. 10 Reasons why Autumn is my Favourite Time of Year..

Leaves Changing Colour..  I love seeing all the gorgeous reds, oranges, and browns that the leaves turn as they fall from the trees. It can look so pretty, and also produces the perfect opportunity for an instagram snap to show off your new Autumn / Winter footwear!

Layers upon Layers of Clothes.. One of my favourite things about Autumn is that the weather starts to get a bit colder and I can start to layer clothes. Layering is one of my favourite things to do when it comes to fashion so I love adding in that extra shirt or scarf to cosy up an outfit!

Autumn Festivities.. Halloween and Bonfire Night are two of my favourite things (behind Christmas obviously!), so I love it in that week at the end of October and start of November where I can enjoy them both! I love the whole dressing aspect of Halloween and I even kind of like the gory aspect. I love a good horror film! On Bonfire Night I love to go to a fireworks display and be all cosy in my many layers of clothes and watch the fireworks with a nice hot chocolate! My idea of a prefect night!

Following on from the previous one, I can really start to get excited for Christmas.. Being a summer baby and having my birthday mid-August, as soon as my birthday has passed I instantly start thinking about Christmas. I try to do this as privately as possible though, as my family and boyfriend will be extremely fed up of me by the time Christmas actually comes around! So, I have already started planning presents to buy and cakes to bake!

Candles.. I love burning candles no matter what time of year, but I always really start to whack them out when it comes to September. I feel like they can really make a room cosy and also make it smell amazing! I have already started stocking up on some spicy scents to fulfil my Autumn candle needs!

Reading Books.. Now, I am a total bookworm all year round but I find that I tend to get through books even more quickly in Autumn because I am not out as much and I find myself having cosy nights in more often. I absolutely love to cosy up with a blanket, a hot chocolate and a good book. It always relaxes me and I can so easily get lost in a book. I even like to tailor my reading to the time of year, (weird, I know), but I will read books that have any sort of reference to Autumn. I save any Christmas themed ones for December!

Pamper Nights.. A pamper night is one of my favourite things to do in the colder months. I am not really a bath person through Spring and Summer because I just want to shower and go, but in Autumn and Winter I love to relax in the bath, maybe do a face mask too and give myself a real pamper. So, when Lush bring out all of their limited edition bits for Halloween and Christmas I am one of the first to stock up on my favourites for those Lush baths that are an essential part of my pamper nights.

Changing up my make-up and nails.. As the seasons change, the way I do my make-up changes too and I just love all the darker tones used in make-up in Autumn. As soon as it gets to the colder months, I crack out the dark berry lipsticks and more pink toned blushes. Lipsticks are possibly my favourite part of my whole make-up routine, so switching it up a bit in Autumn is amazing! I also like to go for more muted tones on my nails which I absolutely love!

Shorter days, Longer nights.. I know a lot of people dont like the fact that the days become shorter and it's dark when we get up in the mornings, but I really quite like that. It is one of the things that makes me start to feel christmassy! I love getting home from work and it being almost dark and I can just chill with a book in a candlelit room feeling cosy!
Pyjamas.. I love pyjamas. There is no other way to put it. So, when it comes to the colder months and I can bring out all of my cosy pyjamas and joggers I love it! In the autumn and winter I will spend all of my time at home in pyjamas no matter what time of day it is. They are just so cosy and comfy!

Thanks for reading,
Lauren x
