Brand Focus : Rimmel │ lipsticksandlevis

Hello everyone!

I thought that it would be a cool idea to do these 'Brand Focus' posts, I pinched the idea from Essie Button!! I think they're a really good idea because it can introduce people to new brands that they've never heard of, new products that they might like to try or just to be nosy and see what my favourite products are. I have basically gone through my make-up stash and picked out all my favourite products that are from Rimmel, which just so happens to be quite a few things! I'll just be giving my opinion on the products, what I like about them etc. and hope that some of you out there might find it useful in some way.

First for my favourite Rimmel product EVER, the Rimmel Kate Moss Lipsticks. I literally love everything about these lipsticks. I love the colour range. I love the formula of the lipsicks. I love the sleek packaging. I just love them and I am definitely going to pick up more of them! I cannot rate them highly enough! I have the shades 30: a deep red purple, 16: a bright pastel pink, 02: a bright magenta pink, 08: a darker brown nude, 22: a bright red, 01: a deep red and 107: a deep burgundy red.

Next, are the other Rimmel lip products that I love. The Apocalips Lip Laquers. I only have two of the shade from the range but throughout the Spring and Summer months they get rather a lot of wear! I have the shades Nude Eclipse and Nova, one being a nude and the other a bright but wearable pink. They apply lovely and I don't find them sticky at all. The applicator has a dip that carries a good amount of product to coat your lips in one swipe and they last for a really long time. I am definitely going to pick up some more of the shades in the near future.

I don't own many face or eye products from Rimmel, infact the ones I am going to talk about here are the only ones I own, but I love all of them and I love them all A LOT. I fell in love with their Match Perfection Foundation after the first use and have continued to love it ever since. It gives me a medium coverage, so makes my skin look so much more even in both texture and colour and makes me look more awake and alive. It's one of the two foundations that I reach for on an almost daily basis. I got the Fix & Perfect Pro Primer in a goody bag from the Clothes Show Live, and have used it every time that I have worn make-up since then. I use it on my t-zone to help counteract the oiliness and help smooth over my pores, where my make-up tends to sit in. I also really think that when I wear this under my foundation, my make-up tends to last longer and better in general. Now for the eye products. The Brow This Way Brow Styling Gel is a fairly new addition to my make-up collection, but I already love it. It helps keep my brow hairs in place all day, without making them look or feel crispy. It keeps them looking natural, which is amazing. I love using the Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal pencil in Nude for on my waterline. It makes me eyes look brighter and wider, which is a look that I love. When I'm feeling lazy, I love just a quick wash of colour over my eye-lids so that it looks like I have actually attempted to make and effort with my make-up. For this purpose, I love the Scandaleyes Eyeshadow Stick in Bulletproof Beige. It is super easy to sweep across the lid and blend to create an effortless and simple eye look that goes with literally anything!

Finally, the nail polishes, I only own four nail polishes form Rimmel, but they were some of my most worn polishes throughout Autumn. Each one of them only needs two coats to look opaque and are super shiny without a top coat. They last really well before they start to chip and they dry super quick, quicker than a lot of my other polishes. I have the shades (from L to R) 030 Double Decker Red, 391 Celebrity Bash, 313 Rita Rouge and 104 Saturn.

New In: Models Own Sale Haul │ lipsticksandlevis

Hello everyone!

If you read my post about my spending ban, well, that's all gone to pot shall we say. One of my friends sent out a snapchat of a delivery from Models Own, a delivery which made me very jealous and seriously lusting some new nail polishes. She said that she got them in the half price Models Own sale. As soon as I heard the words 'half' and 'price', I didn't need any further persuasion and I went straight onto the website to have a nosy. The half price sale was on all the products on the website, including their new Colour Chrome collection, which made me super excited. I had seen their new collection of metallics plastered all over twitter and had been getting some serious nail envy! I may have gotten a little carried away trawling through the website and just added anything to the basket that I thought was pretty. I ended up with a ridiculous amount of nail varnishes in my basket, so went through my collection and took out any polishes I'd added that were identical to ones I already owned. I still ended up buying far too many of my favourite shades, pink. coral and red, though. Oops! The colours of all the polishes I got are beautiful, and the majority of the swatches are painted with just one coat which is amazing! I really highly rate the Models Own nail polishes! So, here are some glimpses of my little (or large) haul and hopefully some nail inspiration for the upcoming Spring and Summer months!

What are your favourite shades from the haul?

My Top 3 Face Masks │ lipsticksandlevis

Hello everyone!

Here's the last installment in my mini skincare series, my top three face masks. Each of these masks are very different in what they do and in their texture also. I tend to stick to just purifying masks because I can usually really feel them working and feel that they are having a good effect on my skin. However, recently, I have branched out a bit more and explored other face masks and have been loving what I have found. I am becoming somewhat of a face mask hoarder, as soon as I see one that I like the sound of, I buy it. I think its because I am never quite happy with the appearance of my skin with no product on it, so I am always looking for treatments to improve it that little bit. All of these masks, in my opinion are affordable, each around the £10 mark which I think is a good price for how long they last considering I only use a face mask once or twice a week.

The first, and probably my favourite of the three is the Sanctuary 5min Thermal Detox Mask. The main thing that attracted me to this mask is the thermal part, I love a mask that you can feel hot on your skin because I really feel like it is working and extracting any unwanted nasties from my skin. This mask goes on hot and then cools down surprisingly quickly and is ready to take off once cooled. I love how quick and easy this mask is to apply and take off and the fact that it doesn't dry to a hard crust on my face, making it difficult for me to get on with things while it is on. I always feel like my skin both looks and feels very clean after using this mask and I am definitely going to have to run out to Boots soon to buy a new one because I don't want to be without it once the remnants in this tube are gone! The second is a mask & peel from Soap & Glory, their Fab Pore 2-in-1 Facial Pore Purifying Mask & Peel. I use this when I feel like my skin is in need of an extra deep cleanse because it is quite an intense mask. I have quite large pores around my nose and across onto my cheeks which are prone to getting clogged. I just take a little bit of this and massage it across my nose and cheeks, on my forehead and on my chin and leave it. I leave it for around 5 minutes for a quick refreshing fix and for around 15 minutes when I really want that deeper clean. I also has tiny exfoliating particles in it to help lift the nasties out of clogged pores and help with dehydrated skin. Another mask that I will be very sad to see run out and will immediately repurchase. This final mask hasn't been in my posession very long but I already love it. It's the Vitamin E Sink /in Moisture Mask from The Body Shop. I tend to use this every other night, or every night when my skin is feeling extra dry and I use it in the place of my regular night time moisturiser. I slap it on my face, all willy nilly and then go to bed and leave it to work its magic on my skin. When I wake up on mornings after using this, I notice a real difference in the softness and the hydration of my skin. I regularly wake up with pesky dry patches across my face and this eliminates those when I use it. I am definitely going to continue using this religiously as I really think that it has done my skin wonders!

January Favourites 2015 │ lipsticksandlevis

Hello everyone!

My laptop screen keeps going on the blink, so I'm going to be writing posts in bulk and scheduling them when I get the chance and when my laptop is feeling helpful! I'm going to do my best to keep the posts regular, and on their usual days of Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I'm just praying that my laptop doesn't break completely, because I am not looking forward to having to buy a new one! (sad face) Anyway, January has flown by so it's about time I told you about my January Favourites! I haven't got many favourites this month, as I haven't really switched anything up in terms of hair care or skincare and I haven't had many make-up wearing days as I've spent most of it ill. So, here are just a few of the things that I have loved throughout the last month.

The one and only make-up product in my favourites this month is the Bourjois Poudre De Riz De Java. I don't know why I've waited until now to try it, because I absolutely love it and always thought I would from the things that I had heard about it. It has a slightly pink colour to it and even looks shimmery in the pot, but when you apply it to your skin, it takes away all the shine without making my skin look too matte. I love dewy skin, but get slightly oily through my t-zone, so this product is absolutely perfect for me. It also helps my make-up stay in place that bit longer, and the mint green packaging is too cute. Just brilliant! I then have two fragrance favourites of the month, Daisy by Marc Jacobs and the fragranced mist from the Zoella Beauty range. I love to use the Zoella beauty mist for everyday wear because it's quite light and not overpowering at all. It's just a lovely fresh scent. I love using Daisy by Marc Jacobs if I am going out somewhere, especially in the evening. It's still quite a light and fresh scent, but more for going out, in my opinion. Now, a home fragrance favourite. You may have seen my Clothes Show Live post, where I talked about the day in general and all the things that I bought. I bought a couple of candles from Flamingo Candle, which I had never tried before. In my favourites this month is the Chocolate Orange scented candle, which, unfortunately, I think was limited edition around Christmas time. It smells exactly like chocolate orange and the scent doesnt fade after a few burns of the candle like some do. I would highly recommend the Flamingo Candles, and they have some really cute and unique scents too.

I love Real Techniques brushes as a whole, and they will be my favourites every month until I find something that I like better. For the quality of the brushes and the fact tht they are affordable, theyr'e always winners for me. This month, these two brushes have been totally stand our for me. Their Blush Brush and the Cheek Brush from the Nic's Picks Collection. You can still get the Nic's Picks Collection HERE, but it is limited edition, so I don't know how long for. I love using the Cheek Brush for blending in my foundation allover my face. It is fairly small, so doesn't drown out my small face, and is quite dense so makes it easy to apply my foundation and blend quickly. The blush brush, for me, is one of those multi-tasking brushes that I just couldn't be without. I use it to contour, to bronze, to apply powder allover my face, and to apply blush. I just love it and will never be without it.

What have been your favourites of January?
